[UPDATED] Wonder Woman 1984 Casts Indian Actress Soundarya Sharma

[UPDATE] Indian actress Soundarya Sharma has NOT been cast in Wonder Woman 1984 as per The Wrap's Umberto Gonzalez.

The original article is as follows:

Wonder Woman 1984 is currently undergoing production, but the movie has managed to add a new actress to the cast.

As per The Indian Express, Soundarya Sharma has been cast in one of the most anticipated films of 2019. Sharma said in a statement:

"This I can say is a ‘dream coming true' situation. It's exhilarating to be a part of such a larger than life character film where you get to play your dream role. I have always dreamt of playing such a character and idolized it."

Based on the statement, it looks like Sharma has been cast in a very important role. We still don't have any details on who she's possibly playing , but my money is on the possibility that she's playing a god.

If you want to see Sharma in action, check her out in this trailer for the film Ranchi Diaries:

Wonder Woman 1984 is yet another prequel to the present DCEU timeline, but it sees a significant time jump from the WWI period of the first movie. This time, we'll see Diana having adjusted to the modern world of man, and it would be interesting to see Wonder Woman tackling an issue like the Cold War.

Gal Gadot returns along with Chris Pine, and we also have Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal joining the cast of the sequel. Patty Jenkins returns to the helm.

Wonder Woman 1984 comes out Nov. 1, 2019.
