Watch the Imaginative Trailer for Disney+'s Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made

Besides The Mandalorian, Disney+ is still on the job to get more original content for its platform. While we don't know when the next Star Wars or Marvel series is going to come out, we do have a new trailer for Disney+ original film, Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made.

Here's the official description:

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Tom McCarthy, Disney+'s "Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made," based on the best-selling book of the same name, follows the hilarious exploits of our quirky, deadpan hero, Timmy Failure, who, along with his 1,500-pound polar bear partner Total, operates Total Failure Inc., a Portland detective agency. An elementary school oddball, the clueless but confident Timmy (Winslow Fegley) must navigate the world of adults around him, including his overburdened mother (Ophelia Lovibond), her well-meaning boyfriend (Kyle Bornheimer), his teacher/nemesis (Wallace Shawn) and a school-mandated guidance counselor (Craig Robinson), all in his quest to become the best detective in the world.

As per the description, the movie is directed by Tom McCarthy who is probably best known for his work on the 2015 Oscar-winner Spotlight. He's also behind the movie The Station Agent which starred a pre-Game of Thrones Peter Dinklage.

Going back to the trailer though, I think the main character of Timmy is delightfully quirky, and it's fun to see just how crazy his imagination runs. The movie has even managed to nab some great cast members from Wallace Shawn to Craig Robinson.

With rumors going around that Disney wants to reboot Diary of a Wimpy Kid, I think they have a similar property when it comes to Timmy Failure. Let's just hope the movie becomes a fun family flick for everyone to check out. If the books by Stephen Pastis were a hit, then surely Disney will find a way to make it a successful film series.

Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made comes to Disney+ on Feb. 7.
