Even if Henry Cavill wasn’t in the film, Shazam! still ended with a fun scene with Freddy and Superman, but the movie could have ended very differently. With the movie coming to digital today, we have a look at an alternate ending featuring the whole Shazam! family.

Check it out:

While I think this would have been the more traditional ending when it comes to the film, I kind of love the scene with Superman—even if they could get Cavill to reprise the role. If anything, it kind of gives me hope that Cavill could come back in the future, but it’s just really a case of WB not knowing what to do with him moving forward.

With Aquaman and Shazam! being hits though, the DCEU is slowly getting back on its feet. Pre-production has finally started with Matt Reeves’ The Batman, and it’s only a matter of time before we get any updates on the next Superman movie. For now, the three movies we have down the lineup is Joker, Birds of Prey, and Wonder Woman 1984. Hopefully, come SDCC2019 later this month, we get an announcement of the other movies the DCEU plans to move forward with.

We all have a superhero inside of us -- it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In 14-year-old Billy Batson's case, all he needs to do is shout out one word to transform into the adult superhero Shazam. Still a kid at heart, Shazam revels in the new version of himself by doing what any other teen would do -- have fun while testing out his newfound powers. But he'll need to master them quickly before the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana can get his hands on Shazam's magical abilities.

Shazam! is now available on digital, and the movie hits Blu-Ray and DVD on July 16.
