Warner Bros will Announce Their New Slate of DCEU Films in SDCC 2020

Back in 2014, Warner Bros had announced their upcoming slate of DCEU films all from Batman v Superman in 2016 to Green Lantern Corps. in 2020. Everything was somehow shoved out the window after Justice League, but it looks like the DCEU is starting to get back on its feet.

As per WB Studio Chairman Toby Emmerich (via Variety's Matt Donnelly), the studio is ready to fully embrace superheroes once more come 2020. This was the post:

With successes of movies like Shazam! and Aquaman, you could say that the DCEU is in a very good place right now. Hopefully we get some more experimental films like the upcoming Joker which looks amazing, but we're also getting a return of some familiar faces with Birds of Prey next year and Wonder Woman 1984 which comes out June 2020.

As for the 2021 slate, we would be getting the new Batman prequel starring Robert Pattinson, as well as James Gunn's The Suicide Squad. Everyone is still waiting on a new Superman movie or other films focused on founding League members like Flash and Cyborg.

If you ask me, Justice League was a mess, but the characters were all cast perfectly. I think it's a shame that WB hasn't been showing any faith in all the actors, but I think they're just biding their time with the films they're pumping out now. With Marvel currently dominating, I'm just hoping DC steps up and becomes some serious competition down the line. We need some more variety when it comes to these comic book films.

Catch Joker in theaters Oct. 4.
