A lot of people were disappointed that the first teaser for Venom barely had any Venom in it, but now a new rumor has come out that the film won’t include that much of the black symbiote suit at all.

According to Manabyte`, a plot break down allegedly reveals that the symbiote will only show itself through the black veins on Eddie Brock’s body, but they won’t actually form a full suit until the end of the movie. The symbiote will make additional arms and even a shield during a car chase, but the signature look of Venom will only manifest when Brock goes up against another symbiote user.

I’m guessing a lot of people would be disappointed if this rumor turns out to be true. That’s like walking in on Godzilla (2014) and realizing that Godzilla only really does cool shit in the end. If the Venom suit was to be absent for the majority of the film, I’m just hoping that Sony doesn’t overtly hype it up in the trailers. We don’t want them to spoil anything like with the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailers.

Like a lot of fans, I would want this movie to have more of Venom in it, but if the story was presented well, I would be fine if we only got the suit in the end. Ruben Fleischer is a fun director, and I think Tom Hardy will be a treat to watch as Eddie Brock.

Venom hits theaters Oct. 5.
