James Gunn Reveals The Suicide Squad Official Logo

A lot of people may be excited for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but for now James Gunn is taking a DCEU detour with The Suicide Squad. With DC building up the FanDome event later this month, Gunn has decided to share the very retro-looking logo for The Suicide Squad.

Check it out:

With the first movie really leaning into the dark and gritty aesthetic that David Ayer was going for, it looks like Gunn's Squad is going to be a lot more colorful. I'll admit, yellow and red kind of feel like a fast food joint, but I guess this aesthetic can also work for an old western or something like Pulp Fiction.

Gunn has already confirmed that we'll be getting our first look at the movie later this month on DC FanDome, and this little tease is just what fans need to get hyped. After a big hiatus from big blockbuster movies, fans have been really starved to get a look at any upcoming projects, from The Suicide Squad to Marvel's Eternals.

Just looking at the materials that have come out online, it looks like Gunn's version of the Squad is going to be a lot closer to his other R-Rated superhero movie, Super. The costumes look a lot more comic-accurate as compared to the look of the first Suicide Squad, but I'm still hoping for some grit to this movie.

James Gunn's The Suicide Squad is set to come out Aug. 6, 2021, and DC FanDome takes place later this month on Aug. 22.
