The Script for DCEU's Booster Gold Movie has been Finished

With DC making films for more obscure heroes like Shazam!, there were also plans for a Booster Gold movie that was announced years ago. The DCEU slate has changed greatly ever since Justice League, and though we haven't gotten any updates on BG, we know that the script is already done for the movie.

Talking to The Fanboy Podcast, writer Zack Stentz (X-Men: First Class, Thor) explained:

"I do not know what's going on with it right now, honestly. And I don't know if the DC people know what's going on with it. Their strategy seems to change depending on how […] most recent movie did. But I can tell you that a script has been turned in that the director and producer, Greg Berlanti, has proclaimed himself to be very happy with. And it's something that's ready to go, but DC and Warner Bros. would need to give the green light to it. The ball is in their court."

In the comics, Booster Gold was Michael Jon Carter, a man from the future who came to the present and used his knowledge of history and high-tech gizmos to fashion himself into a superhero. While he was originally depicted as a showboat, he's since grown to become a ‘true hero.' When news of a movie came out, it was rumored that it was going to be a team-up movie with another DC hero, Blue Beetle.

For now, it still looks like the DCEU is trying to find its footing before moving on to more risky projects. Aquaman and Shazam! were big hits, now everyone is waiting on the Joker movie that's set to come out in October. Then we have the likes of Birds of Prey and Wonder Woman 1984 the next year.

Hopefully, by 2021, DC has a proper slate planned, and the MCU can finally have the competitor it deserves.

Joker is set to come out Oct. 4.
