The Rise of Skywalker’s Babu Frik has a Prop Inspired by the Nintendo Gameboy

While Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker wasn't everyone's cup of tea, a lot of fans definitely loved the alien mechanic Baby Frik. While there are a lot of Easter Eggs that can be found in Babu's workshop, one of them was actually inspired by a real-world piece of tech—the Nintendo Gameboy.

This was shared by concept artist Matthew Savage:

Though storylines for Star Wars are expected to be simple, the details and Easter Eggs you can spot in the background can always end up very complex. In composer John Williams' cameo in The Rise of Skywalker, all the props surrounding him were nods at his entire filmography, from Indiana Jones to Harry Potter.

For now, Star Wars is taking a break in the box office, and the next film is set to come out in 2022. Though that may feel like a long wait, Disney is going to be filling us up with Disney+ content. Besides the incoming second season of The Mandalorian, we're also getting show centered on Rogue One's Cassian Andor as well as everyone's favorite Jedi, Obi-Wan Kenobi; not to mention there's said to be an Ahsoka Tano series in the works.

As for movies, people are speculating that we're going to be going to the High Republic era this time. Personally I like moving forward with stories, but the risks are too great on Lucasfilm's part; not to mention the fandom is quite volatile.

For now, we wait for The Mandalorian to return to Disney+ this October.
