The Rise of Skywalker Star Daisy Ridley on How She Wants Fans to React to Dark Rey

D23's first look at "Dark Rey" left everyone with a dropped jaw, but for now, it looks like the character is going to be a vision in The Rise of Skywalker. Though we all are sure that Rey will come out on top as good, Daisy Ridley gives her thoughts on how she wants fans to react to the dark version of the Sequel Trilogy's protagonist.

Talking to Total Film, Ridley had this to say about Rey's arc, "The whole of Star Wars is about good and evil. With every character, you see some struggle. So, in a way, no. Because it's the most human thing to see someone struggle with two things within them that are pulling them both ways. If you understand why someone is going on the journey, you will be on the journey regardless. So, hopefully, you're shocked in a fun way, but you're also emotionally with her."

While a lot of people are excited to see Dark Rey, I'm hoping that we also get an alternate version of Ben Solo as well. What if Kylo gets a vision of himself giving in to the Light Side? I think that would be a fun twist on the classic vision trope, and it kind of works seeing as Kylo has always been torn between two sides since The Force Awakens.

If anything, these vision scenes don't really give that much weight to the actual story, but it would be cool if J.J. Abrams will be able to find a twist with it. What if Palpatine could find a way to control these visions and make them real? After The Last Jedi, Force powers are kind of whatever the story needs it to be, so I'm ready for anything.
