The Rise of Skywalker Concept Art Reveals a Giant BB-8-Inpsired ‘Tank’

Lucasfilm had just recently released The Art of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and with the book comes some interesting concept art of things that could have been in the film. One piece of vehicle art featured a giant tank that would have been shaped like BB-8.

This comes from io9:

Basically the tank functions like BB-8 with the giant ball of a body, and instead of a head, we have a gunner compartment where a pilot can sit. It's a pretty fun concept, but I don't see a place in the film where this could have appeared, seeing that there weren't any significant land battles.

The release of the book is likely to lead to some more revelations about the film and what we would've got. Just seeing Rey in a costume besides the white version of her robes is interesting. I really wish we saw her in an outfit that just wasn't her Force Awakens garb washed with bleach.

For now, Star Wars has gone into a hiatus, with the next movie aiming to release in 2022. Despite the delay, we should still get a lot of other material on Disney+. The second season of The Mandalorian is still coming to Disney+, and we're still getting the spinoffs centered on Obi-Wan Kenobi as well as Cassian Andor.

The second season of The Mandalorian is set to release this October on Disney+. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is now available on digital and Blu-Ray/DVD.
