The Rise of Skywalker: Check Out Movie Versions of Ships from Star Wars Resistance

Like any other Star Wars film, The Rise of Skywalker was filled with Easter Eggs, and the Resistance Fleet near the end had cameo appearances from the ships of Star Wars Resistance. What's cool is, Lucasfilm's Phil Szostak has given us a closeup of the movie versions of the Fireball, as well as the ships of Karek Yeager and Torra Doza.

Check them out:

Personally, I always thought the ships of Resistance looked kind of weird for Star Wars, basically because they were too colorful for the show. I kind of understood that the loud colors were to captivate younger audiences more, but I never really thought they fit in the canon until now. The ships look like they fit in the universe better, and I'm kind of bummed that they didn't get more prominent roles.

With The Rise of Skywalker already as convoluted as it is, I kind of wish we got some special moments when it came to the final space battle. Maybe we can even have these ships make clearer cameos with the voice actors reprising their roles. I mean, if Rogue One can give us some memorable scenes with the Y-Wings and Red Squadron, why couldn't we get that same kind of moment in TROS?

For now, Star Wars Resistance has ended, and we don't know what's next in store for the Sequel Trilogy. I would actually love to come back to it at some point, but maybe Lucasfilm will do so in a few more years. My weird pitch is that they should make an epilogue in the form of a holiday special on Disney+. Jon Favreau says he wanted to revisit it; maybe Disney will be open to the idea?
