[THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR WATCHMEN EPISODE 7]

The latest episodes of Watchmen have been all about big reveals, and after the bombshell from last week that Hooded Justice was indeed Will Reeves, we find out that Angela’s husband Cal had been Dr. Manhattan in disguise this whole time. We don’t know how the two ended up together, but this promo for episode two teases how Angela came to date the blue superbeing.

Unlike the movie Dr. Manhattan, this version seems to look a tad skinnier. His voice also doesn’t have that same ethereal effect that they gave Manhattan in the film. Seeing that this series is said to be a direct sequel to the comic, I wonder how Damon Lindelof plans to make this Manhattan specifically different.

I’m sure there are a lot of people who hope that he looks like Mr. Phillips (Tom Mison) because there is an ongoing theory that the clones that are in Ozymandias’ prison are that of Jon Osterman and Janey Slater. Then again, some believe that Manhattan could be played by John Cena because his involvement was rumored early in the development of the show.

After several episodes having Manhattan kind of looming in the background, I’m excited to see how he plays into the overall story. It’s great how the show managed to incorporate all the original characters while at the same time give us some new interesting ones as well.
