The Mandalorian: New Still of Ming-Na Wen's Fennec Shand

There are a lot of big-name actors coming to The Mandalorian from Nick Nolte to Giancarlo Esposito, but it's also been confirmed that Agents of SHIELD's Ming-Na Wen is going to make an appearance as well. We got a short clip of her in the latest Mandalorian teaser, but thanks to Vanity Fair we have a still of her character Fennec Shand.

We don't know where Fennec will be introduced in the season, but we do know she is one of the many mercenaries that we'll meet in the show. Like many other bounty hunters in Star Wars, Fennec is said to be loyal to herself, and she doesn't really have an allegiance when it comes to the Rebellion or Empire.

Though Wen has played kick-ass women before, she says that she wanted Fennec to have a specific distinction to her SHIELD character Agent May. She says about Fennec's tight braided look, "It just gives her such a strong, unique look. I've been doing Agent May all these years [on Agents of SHIELD] with long flowing Marvel hair, I wanted to make this character, who's also such a badass, very different, very stark in a way."

And while we're on the topic of kick-ass roles, it's also worth noting that Wen also played the live-action version of Chun-Li in 1994's Street Fighter—a film some people consider terrible, but what I think is delightfully campy.

For now, The Mandalorian is set for a release on Nov. 12 alongside the launch of Disney+.
