The Lion King: Listen to this Clip from the New Hakuna Matata Number

Early reactions for Jon Favreau's The Lion King have started to come out online, and they've all been overwhelmingly positive. The movie is set to hit theaters next week, and we have this fun clip of the new Hakuna Matata number in the movie.

The clip starts at 6:40:

If you've watched the original movie, this is the scene where adult Simba fully comes to form, so I'm guessing this will be the first time we'll hear Donald Glover's voice in the movie. I have to say, though I'm bummed they didn't bring the original voice actors in, I'm pleased with the performance of Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen as Timon and Pumbaa.

Though the critics are loving The Lion King, most of the praise is usually going to the visuals of the film. Not really much has been said about the story, but I guess these remakes can never really win when it comes to the audience. Some would demand that the movie do things differently, but then a lot would hate it when changes are made.

Personally, I'm just in it for the new musical numbers, but maybe this film could fix the "racist" issue with the hyenas. I mean, it's never really explained why the hyenas are banished to the Outlands; sure they're bottom feeders, but it's not really their fault. They're not allowed to stay "where the light touches" and where all the food is. Maybe the film could even use this as a way to make Scar more sympathetic.

That's just my guess, at least.

Catch The Lion King when it hits theaters July 19.
