The Flash Solo Movie Allegedly Wants Nicolas Cage to Play Superman

With the Flash solo film dealing with a multiverse storyline, it would make sense that we would meet multiple versions of one character. It's been confirmed that Michael Keaton will be reprising the part of Batman in the film, but the movie could bring back a superhero that was planned but never saw the light of day.

According to FandomWire, sources have confirmed that Nicolas Cage is being eyed to play his version of Superman in The Flash. Just in case you didn't know, Cage was cast as the Last Son of Krypton in Superman Lives which was supposed to be directed by Burton. The project was infamously cancelled, and all we really have left of it are some test footage of Cage in costume and a full documentary from Jon Schnepp called The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened?.

Since there won't be any chance for Cage to star in that film now, The Flash movie would be the perfect place to introduce him. With several versions of Batman already showing up, it would be great if we got someone completely new that we never got to see in the big screen. With Cage already playing the part of Superman in Teen Titans GO! the Movie, a live-action appearance is the closure we fans (and probably Cage himself) need.

While this is just a rumor, for now, it would make a lot of sense for Warner Bros to find out who else they can have a cameo in a multiverse film.

Catch The Flash when it finally hits theaters on June 2, 2022.
