The Batman: Is This Our First Look at Colin Farrell's Penguin?

It may have taken a while to get off the ground, but it looks like production is finally underway for Matt Reeves' The Batman. While we don't have any official look at Robert Pattinson in his bat outfit yet, we may have a photo of Colin Farrell's Oswald Cobblepot a.k.a. The Penguin.

You can check out the set photos here.

While we don't have official confirmation, some fans are almost sure that the man with white hair holding an umbrella is Farrell (or possibly a body double) in costume. Until we get some official images from WB, I guess all we can really do is speculate.

With Christopher Nolan bringing a sense of realism to his Dark Knight films, I'm very interested to see where Reeves will draw the line when it comes to the comic book feel of his film. The Penguin has been written off to be a scary monster man and a ruthless gangster, so I wonder how Farrell's version will be different. Will he really have a weaponized umbrella in the film, or will he just hold an umbrella like some kind of family heirloom?

Besides Penguin, the movie is also going to be giving us the Riddler and Catwoman in the form of Paul Dano and Zoe Kravitz. We don't really know their role in the film yet, but I'm hoping we get some memorable takes. After all, it's been a while since we've seen these characters on the big screen.

For now, The Batman is set to hit theaters June 25, 2021.
