The Batman: Is Blade Runner's Ana de Armas in the Run for Catwoman?

Yesterday, rumor had it that Mission Impossible's Vanessa Kirby was in the shortlist to be the new Catwoman for the DCEU, but it looks like a fan favorite actress is being considered for the role.

As per Bill "Jett" Ramey (via Geek Vibes Nation), Blade Runner 2049's Ana de Armas is on the shortlist to be the new Selina Kyle.

This was Ramey's post on his feed:

Then he somehow confirmed that there was a list of actresses for the part:

While I think Kirby would be a fine choice for the role, Armas already has an army of fans who want her to be Catwoman. Besides Armas, other fan favorites are Eiza Gonzalez and Priyanka Chopra.

GVN has stated that Batman on Film isn't really a scoop site, but Ramey himself is considered to have many reliable sources and has been in the industry for a while. If anything, I can definitely see Armas being considered for the list. She has been starring in a lot of great titles recently, plus she already has some fans backing her up for the Catwoman role.

If anything, we should get an announcement on who the new Catwoman will be in the next few months. After Robert Pattinson, all the movie has left to cast is the villains. Personally, I'm still waiting for them to announce that Jeremy Irons is coming back as Alfred because he absolutely owned that role in Batman v Superman.

Matt Reeves' The Batman is set to come out on June 25, 2021.
