The Batman: Ben Affleck Spotted in WB Lot with a Script in Hand

After months of ambiguity and a brief stint in rehab, it was unclear whether we would be getting Ben Affleck back as Batman for the DCEU. What's interesting is, Affleck has been spotted in Warner Bros Studios with a script in hand. Could it have something to do with Matt Reeves' The Batman?

Take in mind, this speculation comes just after it was announced that Reeves had finished the first draft of the Batman script. Rumor had even come out that WB was incredibly pleased with what he'd written; so it would make sense that Affleck should check out the script. After all, he is still attached as a producer for the film.

Then again, it's possible that the script is for something else entirely.

Rumors had been coming out that this story will focus on a younger Batman in his prime, but for the sake of continuity (and fanboy outcry), it might be wise if the film kept with Batfleck in lieu of finding a replacement. My suggestion is that they have two stories told simultaneously, one with Batfleck solving a case in the modern day, with a story of a younger Batman solving a case that could be connected or is similar.

We don't have any news on a villain, but it was said that Birds of Prey originally had the Penguin in mind until they were told that he was being saved for another movie—possibly this one. The Birds will still go up against a Batman baddie though: the sadistic crime lord Black Mask.

No release date has been set for The Batman, but production is said to be aiming for a start on summer 2019.
