The 7 Deadly Sins will Appear in Shazam!

2018 has come and gone, and after Aquaman will see the release of a film focused on a relatively obscure hero, Shazam!. So far the film has marketed Mark Strong's Dr. Sivana as the main villain, but news has it that the movie will also include another group of supervillains, the Seven Deadly Sins.

This was confirmed by SuperBroMovies who claims that the Sins in the film will be very close to their New 52 counterparts. Just for an idea, here's what they could look like:

Sivana has been known to make use of the sins in the comics as well, and I'm actually quite amazed that we don't know that much about the Sins appearing until now. My guess is that the film will focus mostly on Sivana as the main antagonist, and the Sins will be something that factors into the potential sequel. Maybe they could end up working for the Rock's Black Adam instead of Sivana?

Shazam! is set to drop a new trailer this coming 19th and hopefully we could get a glimpse of the sins then. Maybe they may not even appear as antagonists at all, but will only be part of the Wizard's backstory before he bestows Billy Batson with his powers.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson's (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he'll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

Catch Shazam! in theaters April 5, 2019.
