Terminator Dark Fate: New Still of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Plus Character Description Revealed

Terminator: Genisys may have been a dud, but that's not stopping Arnold Schwarzenegger for coming back as a T-800 in Terminator: Dark Fate. Thanks to Total Film, we have a new still of him from the film, and director Tim Miller talks about this version of the terminator.

Talking to Total Film (via Games Radar), director Tim Miller said, "He looks different, and he is different… It's an interesting way to portray him. He's just so iconic, but it's something we haven't seen in any of the other films. I personally think that he looks the best since Terminator 2."

Though the movie is choosing to ignore Genisys, it will borrow the same reason as to why Schwarznegger's model is older in this movie. The explanation is that, though the endoskeleton is artificial, the meaty coating around it is still biological, so it still ages and wrinkles over time. No doubt we'll also be seeing the young T-800 in the film as well as Schwarzenegger's body double Brett Azar has also been cast in Dark Fate as the T-800.

As it stands, there are currently more terrible Terminator films than good ones, but a lot of hope is riding on Dark Fate becoming the start of a new franchise. Tim Miller did some great work with Deadpool, and James Cameron has finally attached to the franchise once again since Terminator 2. Let's hope the duo can bring back some magic with this next film.

Terminator: Dark Fate is set to hit theaters Nov. 1.
