Star Wars: The Mandalorian Trailer Confirmed for This Friday

Attendees of Star Wars Celebration 2019 were lucky enough to get a good look at Jon Favreau's The Mandalorian, and it's been months since then and Disney has yet to drop an official trailer for the show. What's interesting is, we have confirmation that we're going to get our first look by the end of the week.

The Mandalorian trailer was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, which writes that the teaser will be dropped at the D23 Expo on Aug. 23. SWCC 2019 not only gave attendees a teaser and sneak peek, but they were also able to look at some BTS for the show. Hopefully we get something as substantial with the teaser drop this Friday.

There's a lot riding on the success of The Mandalorian. For one, it's the first live-action Star Wars show, and will pave the way for other Disney+ properties like Cassian Andor and the upcoming Obi-Wan series. Not to mention it is one of the major hooks for the streaming service Disney+, and Disney is hoping it will reel in an army of subscribers.

While a lot of people love Jedi, my personal favorite elements of Star Wars have always been the ships and the seedy underbelly. After the underperformance of Solo, I'm happy we get to see more of this side of the franchise. Not everything has to be about lightsabers and the Force.

The Mandalorian is set to debut on Disney+ which launches on Nov. 12.
