Star Wars: The Mandalorian New Photo Leaked of an Alien on Set

While the big Star Wars event for next year will be the release of Episode IX, fans are also excited to see what's in store for Jon Favreau's live-action series, The Mandalorian. We already have one official image of the main character, but thanks to Making Star Wars, we have a set photo of one of the new aliens in the series.

Check it out here:

The alien looks pretty standard Star Wars, but what some people are curious about is the setting of the show. Early set photos seem to be bringing us back to Tatooine, what with all the moisture vaporators and familiar architecture. I wouldn't be surprised if we actually started out in Mos Eisly Spaceport; it is, after all, the most wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Besides the rumors of Pedro Pascal starring in the series, we know that Bryce Dallas Howard and Taika Waititi will also have acting roles in the series. Though no details have been revealed about Howard's role, it's said that Waititi will be doing mo-cap once more, but not to play an alien like the MCU's Korg; it's said that Waititi is going to be a droid this time around, much like Alan Tudyk's K-2SO from Rogue One.

The first episode of The Mandalrian will be directed by Dave Filoni, but other directors like Deborah Chow and Rick Famuyiwa have also been attached to helm their own episodes. Not to mention Waititi and Howard will be directing as well.

No release date has been set for Star Wars: The Mandalorian, but it's expected to launch alongside Disney's streaming service next year.
