Star Wars Resistance Season 2 Makes Radar Technicians Canon

Adam Driver proved he had a sense of humor when he played "Matt the Radar Technician" for a Saturday Night Live skit. The skit went viral and has become a meme among the community. The funny thing is, the second season of Star Wars Resistance will make the uniform canon.

Check out this still from the latest trailer:

Just in case you have no idea what the Radar Technician skit is all about, you can watch it here:

With shows like Rebels and Clone Wars hinting at several expanded universe materials, it's kind of fun that something from an SNL skit has made it to canon. We don't know what else is in store for the show, but it's always fun to see Easter Eggs like this become canon. Maybe they even have someone who looks like Matt somewhere in the background.

Besides the radar technician outfit, Season 2 also promises to bring back Kylo Ren and other smaller characters. We got a look at the "Crimson Corsair" being described as a bounty hunter, and hopefully we get to find out what happens to Kaz and the team during the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The Emmy Award-nominated series Star Wars Resistance returns for its second and final season beginning Sunday, October 6 at 10:00 p.m. EDT/PDT on Disney Channel and in DisneyNOW, with subsequent airings on Disney XD. The concluding season takes place during the events of "The Last Jedi" leading up to "The Rise of Skywalker," as Kaz and the team continue to fight against the threat of the First Order, culminating in an epic series finale.

Catch the final season of Star Wars Resistance when it hits Disney XD on Oct. 6.
