Star Wars: Lucasfilm Announces The Mandalorian Panel for D23

We may not be getting a major Star Wars panel this coming SDCC 2019, but some big news is expected to drop next month during the D23 Expo. What's cool is, Lucasfilm has announced a panel for Jon Favreau's The Mandalorian for the coming event.

According to StarWars.com, the Mandalorian panel is expected to take place Friday, Aug. 23, 3:30 p.m. in Hall D23. We're promised an appearance from showrunner Jon Favreau, plus Clone Wars creator and pilot director Dave Filoni. Other special guests are expected to appear, but no specific names have been dropped. At best I think we're going to have an appearance from main star Pedro Pascal as well as his co-stars Gina Carano and Carl Weathers.

Just like the panel during Star Wars Celebration earlier this year, we're also going to get some exclusive sneak previews for the series as well. Fans who can't attend the event can't expect for it to come out online though. I mean, not even the footage that was showcased in Celebration has been officially released. For a series almost coming out, you'd think they'd start marketing as early as now.

Hopefully, we get some teaser with the coming of SDCC 2019. With the series expected to come out in a few months, it would help for Disney to try and build up the hype. I guess it's tricky since Lucasfilm is also trying to sell both Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, not to mention that upcoming LEGO Star Wars reboot.

The Mandalorian is expected to launch alongside Disney+ which comes out Nov. 12.
