Star Wars: Kenobi Anthology Film Said to be Turned Into a Series

There was a lot of rumbling about a Kenobi anthology movie last year, but after the underperformance of Solo, a lot of pending projects found themselves on hold with the Kenobi film not being officially announced. As it turns out, the Kenobi movie was supposed to happen, but now it's finding itself downgraded into a series.

According to Star Wars News Net, a limited Kenobi series is currently in development at Disney+ and could run for as much as six episodes. Production for the film was set to begin shortly after the release of Solo, but after the backlash, Disney and Lucasfilm decided to rethink the approach.

If you look at it, the quality of Solo wasn't really the cause of its underperformance, but rather the reluctance of Disney to market it properly. Bob Iger even admitted that it was his fault that he demanded the movie come out in May. If Solo had come out in December with some proper marketing, I'm sure the movie would have had a good reception and a lot of anthology films would have still been on the go.

As for Ewan McGregor, he was said to have been onboard the Kenobi project since day one. He had even appeared during the Solo premiere. Though I am happy to see a series featuring Obi-Wan, I would have rather gotten a movie out of it.

Not to mention I'm still waiting on the announcement for Solo 2. People liked the movie, Lucasfilm!
