Star Wars' Harrison Ford Pays Tribute to Billy Dee Williams

Harrison Ford may have said goodbye to Star Wars with The Force Awakens, but the upcoming Episode IX will see the return of Han's "friend" Lando Calrissian. Billy Dee Williams had just won the Hollywood Legacy Award at the American Black Film Festival and he shares this tribute to him by Ford.

Check it out:

Though it's been years since the two have worked together, it's kind of cool that Ford would take the time to pay tribute to an old friend. Admittedly, the connection between both their characters is very unique to the Star Wars franchise that the Solo movie just had to have Lando in it.

With Han Solo now gone, I wonder what an older Lando has to say about it. We don't have any images of Williams in costume yet, but rumor has it that Lando is still going to be into capes well into his old age. Personally, I want to see what Lando has to say about the Falcon when he sees it again; it's going to be a lot more different now that we know the whole backstory with L3-37 and how she ended up as the navigational system of the Falcon.

Plus there's the implication that Lando was in love with her.

While no one is expecting a teaser for Episode IX to arrive before the year ends, there have been rumors floating around that we're getting a behind-the-scenes featurette. After a December with no new Star Wars movie, I have to say I'm happy just to get anything at all.

Catch Star Wars Episode IX in theaters Dec. 20, 2019.
