Star Wars: Episode IX's Naomi Ackie Confirms Characters She Shares Scenes With

Star Wars: Episode IX will be introducing a bunch of new characters, and one of them will be played by fresh face Naomi Ackie. We don't know who she's playing in the movie yet, but we do get some confirmation on who she shares scenes with.

Talking to ODE (via Sleemo) during the Newport Beach UK Honours, Ackie talks a bit about working with her co-stars, on the topic of who she loves being on set with, she says, "I think my absolute faves were the like Star Wars new originals. I loved being with John and Daisy and Oscar and it was brilliant to share the screen with them. Such brilliant energy. It was brilliant."

It's interesting that Ackie should refer to the trio of Finn, Rey, and Poe as the "new originals" as they are the new main heroes of the franchise. What's weird though, is that three of them have yet to share a scene together. The Force Awakens had Finn hanging out with Poe and Rey, and Rey doesn't meet Poe until the very end of The Last Jedi. You could say the three were together in that final shot inside the Falcon, but it doesn't count as they really aren't even talking to one another.

Going back to Ackie though, some set photos have revealed that she's kind of a Resistance guerilla soldier. We don't know much about her yet, but it's possible that her home planet will be attacked by the First Order and her people will be asking the Resistance for help—enter Finn and Poe.

While this is all interesting, I just have to ask, "Where's my girl, Rose Tico???"

Star Wars Episode IX comes out Dec. 20.
