Ever since Star Wars: The Force Awakens, a lot of people have been wondering if there's a familial connection between Kylo Ren and Rey, even going so far as to speculate that the two are siblings. Though there are a lot of ‘Reylo' shippers out there, the sibling connection could still make sense based on what we've seen. Ridley, however, is aware that a lot of people would be upset if that was the case.
Talking to Un Nuevo Dia, Ridley was asked about the possible sibling relationship between Kylo and Rey, to which she replies, "If Rey and Ren were brother and sister, all the ‘Reylo' shippers will be shipping incest."
Take note, Ridley isn't confirming or denying anything. She's just stating something that could become a fact if Kylo and Rey ended up related.
Based on how Leia and Luke were making out before the reveal that they were siblings, incest is kind of something that's part of the history of Star Wars (whether we like it or not). Then again, with all the fans going crazy, I'm sure Abrams isn't so crazy as to suddenly make the two siblings. Knowing fans though, I'm sure they're going to continue shipping Reylo even if it was revealed that the two were related. Heck, nobody batted an eye when Jon Snow was banging his Aunt Daenerys.
Romantic or not, the relationship between Kylo and Rey has become the very core of the Sequel Trilogy. We don't know how everything will turn out, but I'm excited to see how a new balance will be struck with the last film in the Skywalker Saga.
