Star Wars Battlefront II: Upcoming Game Mode Confirms 2 New Reinforcements

DICE had promised that Star Wars Battlefront II will be getting a new large-scale game mode this month, but they have made the tough decision to delay it to March. On the bright side, we have confirmation that we will be getting two new types of reinforcements!

This comes from the most recent community transmission:

It's always disappointing when we have to move things around, not just for you but for ourselves as well. We're incredibly eager to see the new game mode hit our live servers, but we also want to ensure that when it launches it's the best state it can be.

However, this extra time is also allowing us to create two brand new reinforcements which we want to launch alongside the mode! You can expect full Community Transmissions detailing everything about the new mode as we get closer to its release, as well as a Community Update video that shows it off.

We don't know what kind of new soldiers will be arriving in the game, but a lot of fans are hopeful that we'll finally be able to use droidekas. The droids were sort of teased with the last Geonosis drop, and it's also been one of the most requested droids by fans to be brought to the game.

As for clones, everyone is guessing we're going to get ARC troopers, but it's also likely that we'll have something else entirely. The original Battlefront II has a whole class of soldiers to choose from. Besides droidekas, you also got magnaguards and a clone class which specializes in melee combat.

For now, players are just gearing up for the release of Anakin Skywalker plus two new skins for the 501st Legion and the Coruscant guard.

The next update comes Feb. 27. Star Wars Battlefront II is now playable for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
