Star Wars Battlefront II: BB-8 and BB-9E Come Out Next Week!

Star Wars Battlefront II has risen from the ashes of its terrible launch and is now one of the best-reviewed Star Wars games out there. We've been teased last year for the arrival of BB-8 as a playable hero, and as it turns out, he'll be coming next week.

This comes from community manager Ben Walke:

We don't know much about the playstyle of BB-8 and his dark side counterpart BB-9E, but we do know that BB-8 will play more offensively with 9E said to be more of a supporting character. It's also said that their movements are comparable to that of the droideka, so you can bet they move pretty fast.

While the two are categorized as ‘heroes' in the game, a lot are wondering if that means that they will be available to play during Heroes v Villains. My guess is that they act as special reinforcements during regular missions, but only one can exist on the battlefield at a time.

With the past year being focused on releasing Clone Wars content, fans are now hoping that DICE will give love to some other eras in the Star Wars franchise moving forward. The latest map and reinforcements gave us new additions from the Sequel Trilogy, but now fans want some Original Trilogy goods coming to the game; maybe they can start by porting over the heroes like Krennic and Dengar from the 2015 Battlefront. I'm not saying they should, but it's been something the community has been requesting for a while now.
