Disneyland is set to open their own Star Wars theme park Galaxy's Edge sometime this year, and it looks like Lucasfilm is going all out building up to the park's launch. Just in, they're going to be developing a comic miniseries based on the Black Spire Outpost a.k.a. the park.
According to StarWars.com, the comic is set to launch this April and will run for five issues. Here's the official description:
Readers of the five-issue miniseries will be the first to meet the infamous Dok-Ondar, the Ithorian collector of rare antiquities, and find out what happens when the First Order reaches the edge of wild space. The key to saving this lawless outpost might just involve a job pulled long ago by none other than Han Solo and his cohort Chewbacca.
They've also released this concept design of the Dok-Ondar who is said to be running the park. You may recognize this Ithorian/Hammerhead species when it debuted in the Mos Eisley Cantina in A New Hope:
The series is said to be written by Ethan Sacks who was the author of the Star Wars: Age of Republic comic that was centered on Mace Windu. This comic miniseries isn't the only material contributing to the park lore though. The Flight of the Falcon series of books explains how Hondo Ohnaka is in possession of the Millennium Falcon when guests enter the park. As it turns out, it's been left to him by Chewbacca and Rey for repairs, and he's ‘hiring' the park guests to go on some smuggler's run—which is the name of the Millennium Falcon ride.
The first issue of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge comic comes out this April.
