Star Wars: Alleged Concept Art from Colin Trevorrow’s Duel of the Fates

Colin Trevorrow had been working on Star Wars Episode IX for years before he was eventually fired from the job, and with The Rise of Skywalker out, we've been getting some bits and pieces of Trevorrow's version of Episode IX. Just in, we have some supposed concept art from the film.

Check it out:

The art pretty much lines up with the script leak including the Lovecraftian Sith master Tor Valum as well as Rey wielding the dual ended lightsaber. We also have a look at the derelict Coruscant as well as Leia supposedly leaving a message for BB-8—the script was said to be in the works before Carrie Fisher died.

While there are certainly lots of things I love about Trevorrow's version, there are still some concepts that I thought were a tad questionable. For one, I didn't like how we didn't get any form of redemption (or ‘Bendemption') for Kylo Ren. I also didn't think that a romance between Poe Dameron and Rey could work. At least TROS tried to redeem Ben and if leaks are to be believed, knew that Poe's romance was with Finn.

For now, fans are slowly coming to terms with The Rise of Skywalker. If children loved it, I suppose it's fine. Personally, I'm kind of convinced that this was not J.J. Abrams' version of the film, and sad to say we have another #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement in our hands.
