Star Wars' Adam Driver Plays Coy About The Future of Kylo Ren

Star Wars: The Last Jedi ended with Kylo Ren establishing himself as the new Supreme Leader of the First Order, and everyone has no idea what to expect with his story in Star Wars Episode IX. When talking to Vulture, Adam Driver teases the future of his character without giving too much away.

When asked what was so interesting about playing Kylo Ren, Driver replied with, "That's hard to say because we're working toward something in particular with that character. I don't want to give anything away."

There have been a lot of guesses on how things will turn out for Kylo, but some guess that it will be revealed that he's actually a pretty benevolent leader after all. Then again, it's also possible that his inexperience will run the First Order to the ground.

Either way, no one has any idea what to expect some the sequel. With the Star Wars formula so engraved in the minds of the fans, I actually love how Rian Johnson managed to subvert all expectations by having Kylo betray Snoke and further establish himself as the villain.

Rumor has it that Episode IX will feature a time jump, and even then all we could do for now is speculate wildly on where the characters will end up. If anything, I hope this talk of Episode IX being a ‘course correction' is false and J.J. Abrams makes use of the clean slate that Johnson has set up for him.

Star Wars Episode IX comes out Dec. 20, 2019.
