Star-Studded Cast for Netflix’s Dark Crystal Series Includes Mark Hamill, Helena Bonham Carter, and More

More than a year after the series was first announced, Netflix has finally given us an update on their Dark Crystal prequel series. We know that stars Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor Joy, and Nathalie Emmanuel will lead, but they're only the tip of the star-studded iceberg of actors in the show.

According to Netflix, other big name actors have agreed to lend their voices to The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. On the Gelfling side, we have actors Helena Bonham Carter, Natalie Dormer, Toby Jones, Mark Strong, Alicia Vikander, Eddie Izzard, Caitriona Balfe, Harris Dickinson, Theo James, Shazad Latif, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

Playing the Skesis & Mystics will be Mark Hamill, Harvey Fierstein, Keegan Michael Key, Jason Isaacs, Simon Pegg, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, and Ralph Ineson.

The series will also see the return of Aughra who will be voiced by Donna Kimball. In the original movie, the character was voiced by Frank Oz—who Star Wars fans know best as the voice of Yoda.

With The Dark Crystal being a cult classic, this prequel series promises to capture all the same magic that the original had. The show will be making use of puppets as well, but I'm sure they'll also be enhancing the visuals with modern movie technology.

"The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance" returns to the world of Thra, where three Gelfling discover the horrifying secret behind the Skeksis' power and set out to ignite the fires of rebellion and save their world.

No release date has been set for Netflix's The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.
