Spider-Man: New Daily Bugle Report Blames Spidey for Coney Island

Sony is going a whole new meta with its marketing for the Spider-Man franchise by launching a website called TheDailyBugle.net. Just in, the site has posted up a new report on Coney Island, saying it's finally re-opened after the events of Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Check it out:

The report on the actual site actually goes into more detail, and as expected, it's blaming Spider-Man for the attack, and saying that officials are afraid to name him over "fear of payback."

I guess it would make sense that Sony would make a website like the Bugle to help promote their franchise. I mean, this can cover not only Spider-Man but the upcoming Morbius and Venom films as well. I don't know if they have any plans to delve into Spider-Verse, but maybe it will have to come after the movie since it's still in development, and we know how studios can be about spoilers.

What I'm curious about is how the Bugle is going to move forward in the MCU. With J. Jonah Jameson knowing Peter Parker is Spider-Man, are we ever going to see Peter get his photographer job at the Bugle? Maybe Peter manages to trick Jameson to thinking that it was a false leak, so Jameson still hates Spider-Man but trusts Peter. I'm just curious if J.K. Simmons is going to tackle the character differently this time or just play him as he did in the Raimi films.

For now, Spider-Man 3 is set to come out July 16, 2021.
