Spider-Cat Kicks Butt for Spider-Man: Miles Morales in Awesome Video

Insomniac Games is steadily building hype for the release of Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and though a clip of Miles taking on the Rhino is interesting, the internet has proven to be more interested in a new character for the game—Spider-Cat.

Check out the footage from Game Informer:

While it's not really clear how ‘Spider-Cat' is going to be part of the game, I have a guess that he's going to be part of a special skin for Miles where the cat can actually help you take down goons. Then again, maybe you can just bring Spider-Cat with you as a companion, regardless of the skin, and he'll help fight bad guys with his paws.

While Spider-Cat may be the big takeaway from this video, some also noticed one big difference from the first Spider-Man game. When exiting a hideout, there always has to be a loading screen to transition you back into the city, but here you can see that Miles can transition from a hideout to the city immediately. That's certainly keeping to the promise of the PS5 to have no more load times.

In the latest adventure in the Marvel's Spider-Man universe, teenager Miles Morales is adjusting to his new home while following in the footsteps of his mentor, Peter Parker, as a new Spider-Man. But when a fierce power struggle threatens to destroy his new home, the aspiring hero realizes that with great power, there must also come great responsibility. To save all of Marvel's New York, Miles must take up the mantle of Spider-Man and own it.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales launches alongside the PS5 on Nov. 12.
