Sony’s Uncharted Starring Tom Holland has Officially Wrapped Filming

Tom Holland has just recently announced that he's back in Atlanta to start working on Spider-Man 3, but a lot of people are curious as to the state of the Uncharted film. The good news is, it looks like photography for the movie has wrapped as well.

As announced by Sony Pictures, Uncharted directed by Ruben Fleischer (Venom) has finally wrapped. Here's a photo of the clapper alongside the Drake heirloom with the engraving Sic Parvis Magna ("Thus great things from small things [come]"):

We don't know the exact story of the Uncharted film yet, but I think it's safe to assume that it happens way before the events of the first game. In the movie, it's said we're going to have Nathan Drake meet his longtime accomplice Sully, and we'll get to watch him in his early days of tomb raiding and treasure hunting.

Though video game movies don't do that well generally, a lot are hoping that Sony manages to make Uncharted work, what with closer collaboration with the game developers. Instead of telling a rebooted story, hopefully the film will stay in the same canon as the games, so as to keep the story of the games relevant as well as allow for the films to tell some new ones.

With the reveal of Holland and the movie wrapping, it could be a matter of time before we get our first teaser. Hopefully Sony drops it before the year ends.

Uncharted is set to hit theaters on July 16, 2021.
