Sony Wants Spider-Man 3 to Come Out in 2021

Tom Holland has been a great Spider-Man for the MCU, and we're set to see his next solo film later this year with Spider-Man: Far from Home. No doubt Sony has a third movie in mind, and it's likely that we already have a release window for the film.

According to That Hashtag Show's Charles Murphy, we could have Spider-Man 3 come out in 2021:

Marvel Studios and Sony would like to have Spidey 3 in 2021 (Sony wants him in theaters every 2 years). With that in mind, I'm sure they'll have to put the gears in motion on #3 soon so they can shoot it next year.

Should the movie come out that year, it would be competing with the likes of DCEU's Batman and The Suicide Squad. We don't know what Marvel films will release that year yet, but it's likely that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 could also release that year. Maybe by then, we would have already seen Black Widow, The Eternals, and the Doctor Strange sequel.

With Holland saying he's open to star in more Spidey films in the future, hopefully, Spider-Man 3 won't mark the end of a franchise. I mean, maybe it could be a milestone, like a clash with the Sinister Six, but hopefully, we have more Spider-Man films that could deal with storylines like The Death of Spider-Man or Spider-Man clashing with Venom. No to mention everyone is waiting on an announcement for The New Avengers complete with a brand new roster of heroes.

For now, catch Spider-Man: Far from Home when it hits theaters July 2. You can also catch Spidey in theaters now in Avengers: Endgame.
