Sonic and Robotnik Banter in New Clip from Sonic the Hedgehog

February is almost here, which means Sonic the Hedgehog is close to hitting theaters. Just in, we have a new clip of the redesigned Sonic bantering with Jim Carrey's villain, Dr. Robotnik.

Check it out:

Though the first teaser came out pretty bad for the movie, things had turned around once Sonic was redesigned by Paramount. The humor is actually spot on, and I kind of love how Carrey is channeling the humor he was known for back in the 90s. Though he does some more mature stuff now, it's kind of fun to see him come back to what made him so popular in the first place.

Though I'm aware there are a lot of adult Sonic fans out there, I'm hopeful that the fanbase won't be too harsh when it comes to the humor of this movie. By the looks of it, the main audience that Sonic the Hedgehog is aiming for is the kids, and the best way to win them over is with comedy. When the movie comes out, I just hope some of the older fans understand that as long as the kids love it, then the movie is doing its job.

Sonic tries to navigate the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound best friend -- a human named Tom Wachowski. They must soon join forces to prevent the evil Dr. Robotnik from capturing Sonic and using his powers for world domination.

Sonic the Hedgehog speeds into theaters this coming Feb. 14.
