Solo A Star Wars Story: There's a Cloud City Easter Egg in the Millennium Falcon

When we first meet Lando Calrissian in The Empire Strikes Back, he’s the administrator of Cloud City. In Solo: A Star Wars Story, he’s still a smuggler, but as it turns out, there’s a neat Cloud City Easter egg that can be found in Lando’s old/new Falcon.

Thanks to The Star Wars Show, Lucasfilm story group’s Pablo Hidalgo gives us a small tour (the segment starts at 6:19):

Since Hidalgo is responsible for coming up with details and lore for everything we’ll see onscreen, it would make sense that he would have access to the set of Solo. While giving us a tour, Hidalgo points to a display case where at the bottom looks to be the structure of Cloud City from Bespin.

We don’t know the relevance of Cloud City for young Lando, but it could possibly be a goal of his to work there after years of smuggling.

Though the production for Star Wars likes to go into great detail, there are still some things that unfortunately don’t make it onscreen. These BTS looks are probably the only way we can see them properly. Good thing Lucasfilm was eager to give us a look around.

Catch Solo: A Star Wars Story in theaters May 25.
