Solo A Star Wars Story: Paul Bettany Talks the Intense Security on Set

With a movie as big as Solo: A Star Wars Story, everyone was expecting Luacsfilm to be extremely careful when it came to any information leaking online. Talking to Syfy Wire, actor Paul Bettany talks about how intense the security on set was when he was cast as Dryden Vos.

Bettany explains:

"They're so careful. You're dressed and undressed there, you can't even take a photograph, if you wanted to take a photograph of yourself… There's somebody with you when you're getting into all of those costumes and there's somebody with you when you walk on to set. You're never alone. I'd love to have stolen my [character's] weapons, but I didn't get a chance."

Originally, the role of Dryden Vos was to be played by Michael K. Williams, but after Ron Howard took over, Williams wasn't available for reshoots so they recast Vos with Bettany. Williams' Vos was said to have been half man, half animal, but Bettany's version is also far from human. It's said that his ‘scars' actually turn red when Vos is angry—something that would look cool in the movie for sure.

After starring in Avengers: Infinity War as Vision, we'll get to see Bettany grace the screen yet again—but as a villain this time. Let's see if he ends up as scary as Beckett (Woody Harrelson) makes him out to be.

Solo: A Star Wars Story comes out May 25.
