Shazam! Sneak Peek has Billy and Freddie Trying Beer for the First Time

We had been promised a new Shazam! trailer in the new year, but February has already come and all we have to show for it is a new teaser. A new sneak peek has been released for the movie, and it gives us a few more scenes from the film plus some insight from the actors.

While almost all the scenes in the clip are things we've seen before, we get a lot more of Billy Batson fooling around with his superpowers. We have him and Freddie getting cash from an ATM and some shots of Captain Marvel dancing around and… dabbing. In a scene ripped straight from the comics, Freddie and Billy try beer for the first time only to find out that they hate it.

What's also fun in the clip is we see Zachary Levi and Asher Angel share a segment together, and it really feels like a kid and his grown-up version just talking to each other. It would make sense that the two should have great chemistry since they are playing the same character.

After the success of Aquaman, a lot of people are waiting on what's next for the DCEU. Justice League was a huge stumble for the franchise, and a lot of people are hoping that DC has finally gotten their stride as they push forward.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson's (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he'll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

Catch Shazam! in theaters April 5.
