It lookslike The Flash won't be alone when it comes to its 2022 release. Just in, WB has also set a release date for the follow-up of 2019's Shazam!.

As per The Hollywood Reporter's Borys Kit, The World's Mightiest Mortal is going to come back to theaters April 1, 2022. Here's the tweet:

We don't know what's in store for the sequel yet, but it had been teased at the end of the first film that the new villain could be Mr. Mind. Since Dr. Sivana didn't die either, it's possible that we could see his return as well.

What's interesting is, the Black Adam solo movie is going to be coming out in December of 2021, so it's possible that that film could be building up to Shazam! 2. Dwayne Johnson did say that the Justice Society of America could be involved with his film, and since Captain Marvel is a member of the JSA, it would make sense that the two movies could be connected.

As for a clash with Adam, it's likely we could get that in the third Shazam! film. Adam is famously Captain Marvel's nemesis, so you could imagine the fan disappointment when Adam was nowhere to be found in the first movie. Hopefully it all gets explained in Black Adam, seeing as he's the first champion of the Wizard before Billy Batson.

For now we wait for the Shazam! sequel which comes out April 1, 2022. Black Adam is set to hit theaters Dec. 22, 2021.
