Shazam! Reshoots Extended for a Month

News had recently come out that Shazam! was going to undergo a few weeks of reshoots for November, and though that sounds normal for any studio project, it's been revealed that these shoots have been extended all the way until December.

According to HN Entertainment, the reshoots have moved their finishing date from Nov. 18 to Dec. 22. While some may see this as another case of studio interference, as it turns out, WB has decided to raise the budget for the film and is allowing the production to shoot more of the pick-ups that they need. Surely this is nothing for the fans to worry about. It's not like the original director quit and was suddenly replaced with Joss Whedon.

Also, this extended schedule for reshoots adds a little hope for the fans who want to see Henry Cavill make his cameo in the movie as Superman. It was said that he initially couldn't make it with scheduling conflicts, but with a whole month given to extending the production, maybe Cavill can finally find the time to make an appearance.

With the DCEU mostly being on the darker side of things, Shazam! looks to embrace the comedy genre and has been described as "Big but with Superman." Hopefully this time around, director David F. Sandberg is allowed to complete the film with his original vision as compared to the other DC movies which have seen heavy studio interference.

Shazam! will be our second installment into the DCEU after Aquaman hits later this year, and it will be the first DC film of 2019. Catch it when it hits theaters April 5, 2019.
