Set Photo from HBO's Watchmen Reveals What Happened to Ozymandias

Damon Lindelof has said that his HBO Watchmen series won't be an adaptation of the comic, but new evidence suggests that it's actually a continuation of the original story. A new set photo has come out online, and it reveals the fate of original Watchmen character Ozymandias a.k.a. Adrian Veidt.

We also get to see some photos concerning Ozymandias' plan by the end of the comic. There are alien shelters all over the world, and it looks like Veidt has also orchestrated some smaller attacks to make sure that people are convinced that there is an alien threat. Besides the headline of Veidt's death, you can read "Boise Squid Shower Destroys Homeless Camp, Kills 2."

Though I would love to read more on how they plan to kill of Veidt, the print in the picture is too small to decipher. I have a feeling that part of it is his guilt for having to live with killing millions. Then again, he did save the world from blowing itself up all on its own.

The announcement that the series won't be a direct adaptation was met with outrage online, but I think people are slowly warming up to the idea that this is a sequel to the original. That way, the story goes on, and we get to find out how the world goes on after "the biggest practical joke of all time."

No release date has been announced for HBO's Watchmen.
