Game of Thrones Star Rosabell Sellers’ Audition for Death in Sandman Surfaces Online

While it has taken years to get off the ground, the live-action adaptation of Sandman is finally pushing forward with Netflix. Though we have no casting news yet, an audition clip for the role of Death has come out online; what's more, it's of actress Rosabell Laurenti Sellers a.k.a. Tyene Sand from Game of Thrones.

You can check it out here (via FullCircleCinema).

The scene she's reading actually comes from Sandman #8, the same issue where Death makes her debut. Though we have already been familiar with Dream, Death is the first sibling that we meet, and needless to say, she's a pretty fun character when she makes her appearance.

What's interesting is, though Dream/Morpheus is usually glum and mysterious, Death is more animated and outspoken; kind of ironic, seeing that she's the literal personification of Death. If anything, she launched the fashion sense of a generation of goths back in the 90s.

We don't know how far along Netflix's plans for Sandman are, but it's said that each season will be based on one volume from the book. If you ask me, they should try and approach it as an anthology series like the comic, and have several actors take on the roles of Dream, depending on who's telling the story. Then again, that's just my opinion.

With the Coronavirus Outbreak shutting everything down, no doubt Sandman has also been significantly delayed. Hopefully, when everything gets back to normal, we can have a proper update.
