Ryan Reynolds is the man behind Deadpool and Taika Waititi was the director of Thor: Ragnarok and the two are easily some of the funniest men in Marvel Entertainment. What’s interesting is, Reynolds and Waititi are teaming up for this film called Free Guy, and 20th Century Fox has just given us a teaser image of the cast.

Check it out:

The movie will be directed by Shawn Levy (Stranger Things, Night at the Museum), and will also have the likes of Lil Rel Howery (Get Out), Joe Keery (Stranger Things), Atkarsh Ambudkar (Pitch Perfect), and Jodie Comer (Killing Eve) as part of the cast.

This is also something I just realized: this isn’t the first time Reynolds and Waititi have teamed up onscreen. The two actually played best friends in the god-awful Green Lantern movie which came out in 2011.

For now, the two have come very far in their careers, and it would be great to see the different when they’re reunited onscreen.

As for the plot, the short description on IMDb reads: A bank teller discovers that he's actually a player inside a video game. There were also rumors going around that Reynolds’ character isn’t actually a player, but rather an NPC. I guess we’ll just have to wait or some further description before we can find out what it’s really about.

I’m sure it’s not just me, but it sounds like a plot that came out of watching that Rick and Morty bit about the game Roy:

Free Guy is set to hit theaters July 3, 2020.
