Ryan Reynolds Reacts to Disney/Fox Merger

The Disney/Fox merger has been finalized, and a lot of people can't wait to see what the MCU has in store for Marvel Fox characters like the X-Men and Fantastic Four. Funnily enough, Ryan Reynolds commemorates the closing of the merger with this fun photo of Deadpool.

Though the MCU has grown to be more kid-friendly over the years, a lot of people are wondering what Marvel is going to do with a franchise as raunchy as Deadpool. While I am expecting more PG appearances from the Merc with the Mouth, I think Disney is going to be sticking to the character's R-rated flavor—seeing as that's what made him so popular in the first place.

While I'm all up for a reboot of both the X-Men and Fantastic Four, I'm kind of hoping that the MCU finds a way to keep Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. He's worked too hard to get the franchise off the ground, and I can't imagine anyone else playing the role. My guess is they could either introduce him via a portal from an alternate dimension, or maybe they can say that Deadpool was part of the MCU this whole time. After Endgame, I'm hoping that Marvel already has a solution for bringing the mutants into their cinematic universe.

We don't know when Deadpool is going to come back onscreen again, but hopefully it's sooner rather than later. Maybe they can have him appear in an after-credits scene?

Catch Avengers: Endgame in theaters April 26.
