Could X-Men: Dark Phoenix be Fant4Stic Levels of Bad?

Dark Phoenix has had a lot of problems when it comes to behind the scenes, and the movie was originally set to come out last November were it not for the extensive reshoots. No one was already expecting the film to be good after multiple delays, now news has it that it could be as bad as 2015's most famous dumpster fire, Fantastic Four.

This comes from The DisInsider's Skyler Shuler:

Of course, it's still possible that the film could end up surprising everyone. I mean, everyone was expecting Venom to bomb, but it came out as one of the most successful movies of the year. Maybe we just need a better trailer to get everyone on board for Dark Phoenix.

Rumor has it that the movie will actually be closing Fox's main X-Men timeline that was started back in 2000 with Bryan Singer's first X-Men movie. After that, we're still going to get New Mutants, but from that point we expect the slate to be cleaned so Marvel could give us their version of the X-Men that fits in the MCU.

To be honest, the last X-Men film that I really liked was First Class. After that, it seemed that the timeline had all been muddled up, what with the big time jumps and the actors still looking the same age. Am I supposed to believe McAvoy's Xavier is now the same age as Stewart's when the first X-Men came out? Ridiculous.

Catch Dark Phoenix when it (finally) hits theaters June 7, 2019.
