Rumor: WB Interested in Casting Kit Harington as Batman

Game of Thrones is set to end next year, but it looks like Kit Harington may have a job lined up for him already with the DCEU. At least, that's the rumor anyway.

According to Revenge of the Fans, WB is currently eyeing Kit Harington to star as a younger Batman in Matt Reeves' solo movie which is set to start production next year. It was said that last June, WB was asking for some mock-ups of Harington in a Batsuit to see what he would look like in character.

Ben Affleck's position in the Batman film has been up in the air since Justice League, and it's said that director Reeves is looking for someone younger to take on the role. Personally, I can't imagine Harington as someone else other than Jon Snow, but I'm sure he has the acting chops to pull the role of Batman off.

Of course, this is all just a rumor, and we'll just have to wait till WB makes an official announcement.

It's rumored that this movie will still be set in the DCEU, and will focus on Batman's earlier days as the Caped Crusader. When we meet him in Batman v Superman, Bruce Wayne had already been Batman for a few years. Reeves' plan was to make a movie with Batman in his prime.

If I were to choose, I would have two stories being told simultaneously—one with a young Batman, and another with old Batfleck solving his own story. The two stories could be connected somehow, and we would see the way Batman has developed from his early days as the Dark Knight to his current position in the DCEU.

Honestly, I just want to see the story move forward after Justice League; it's just been period piece after period piece thanks to Wonder Woman.

No release date has been set for Matt Reeves' The Batman.
